Debuted in 1964 for Hal Morgan's Top Pro Wrestling promotion in Sydney. Began wrestling for Barnett and Doyle in 1966, while still wrestling around the Sydney clubs. Donned a mask in 1970 and wrestled as 'The Red Devil”.
Teamed with Larry O'Day in 1971 and went to US, wrestling as “The Australians”. Won tag belts in Florida and Tennessee. On their return to Australia, the continued their team, winning the Austro-Asian tag belts on several occasions. Became the Austro-Asian Hwt champion in 1976, and never lost the belt. Had a long series of matches against NWA World champion Harley Race, all finishing in draws, except for a famous non-title victory to Ron on TV. Won a version of the NWA World Jr Hwt title in 1975, defeating Bobby Hart. Toured Georgia in 1979.
Became part-owner of World Championship Wrestling in 1974. Also ran another promotion, called “World Championship Wrestling” from 1988-93.
